Description
A maglock bracket with nowhere to tie off.
A standard M82 header bracket leaves a flat ledge above the lock. In a behavioral health unit, a patient room, or a group home, that ledge is the problem. The ALM-M82 replaces it with a 34.8° sloped face — machined from solid aluminum, not folded sheet — so there is no horizontal surface to loop a cord over and nothing that will hold a load.
Every fastener that shows sits in an 82° countersink and finishes flush with or below the surface. No screw heads standing proud. No exposed hardware to grab.
The low profile also solves a second problem: shallow and obstructed headers where a conventional M82 bracket simply will not fit.
How it goes in
- The bracket mounts to the header or frame first, through three countersunk holes.
- The maglock comes up underneath and lands on the two tapped holes in the bracket.
- Two supplied 1/4-20 x 2-1/2 in socket head cap screws run from the bottom face of the lock, up through the housing, and thread into the bracket. 3/16 in hex drive.
Full installation sheet with the hole pattern ships in the box.

Fasteners for the three countersunk wall and frame holes are not supplied.
Mounting surfaces vary too much for us to pick for you — hollow metal frame, wood blocking, concrete, and stud wall all want a different anchor. Select flat-head fasteners to suit your substrate. The countersinks are 82° and accept a head up to 0.52 in diameter.
Before you specify
Egress requirements for magnetic locks are not changed by this mount. Confirm free egress on fire alarm, sprinkler activation and loss of power, and confirm any delayed or controlled egress requirements with your authority having jurisdiction.
Submittal drawing available on request. A dimensioned drawing with the mounting hole pattern is supplied to specifiers and integrators — email sales@rackit.com.
